First, when installing square U-bolts, we must first remove the nuts and place the U-bolts around the object to be connected to the beam or bracket. Generally, it is basically a pipe, and then make sure that its protective coating is not damaged. Cracks in the coating may cause rust around the hole. The two ends of the bolt pass through the hole and nuts are screwed on both ends. The placement of nuts on the restraint device is different from the guide device. If a restraint device is used, the nut on the bottom side of the beam needs to be tightened. For the guide, a nut needs to be placed on the top of the beam. These nuts can leave appropriate spacing between the pipe and the U-bolt. After the nut is in place, tighten the nut close to the beam manually first, then tighten the second nut, and finally tighten the nut with an electric tool or wrench until it is fixed.
In fact, you should also pay attention to the use of materials during installation, because the quality of the material is critical, which plays a key role in the service life of the U-bolt.
Square U-bolts play an important connecting role for mechanical equipment, so these parts should be taken seriously and their role should not be ignored. Therefore, the preventive measures for the use of square U-bolts are as follows.
1. Every time the engine runs for 12,000 km for secondary maintenance, the engine oil pan should be disassembled and the use of the engine bearing bushing should be checked. If the gap of individual bearing bushings is found to be too large, they should be replaced. At the same time, the connecting rod bolts should also be replaced. If the engine is found to be unstable and there is an abnormal sound during normal operation, it should also be stopped and checked in time.
2. The newly replaced connecting rod bolts should be checked during each maintenance. Attention should be paid to whether there are cracks or dents on the head, guide part, and thread parts of the bolts, and whether the tooth shape and pitch of the thread are abnormal. If there are abnormalities, they should be resolutely not used.
3. When assembling the connecting rod cover, use a torque wrench to tighten it according to the specified standard to prevent the torque from being too large or too small.
4. Use connecting rod bolts produced by the supporting factory.
